Our Community

At HSL we are well aware of the importance of being responsible to our community. We believe in doing our part for the environment and giving back to our community through local charities.

Electronics Recycling

Unwanted electronics are the fastest growing segment in an already burgeoning solid waste stream yet upwards of 90% of their component parts can be recycled, and many can be refurbished and reused, as they contain some of the most valuable elements mined and refined in the modern world.

We help with Reuse and Recyle

We collect old monitors, disk drives and computers from our customers and will reuse these components where possible. With scrap metal and other components we work with one of our clients who is a certified WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) recycler. The money we collect is donated to one of our local charities.

The Salvation Army

Each year we make a donation to one of our local charities. Funds are given to the Joseph Brant Hospital or to the Salvation Army (we alternate).

There are seven core operational values which guide all aspects of The Salvation Army in Canada.

Joseph Brant Hospital

Ontario’s hospitals provide round-the-clock care to patients, including emergent, elective, specialized chronic care and rehabilitation. Joseph Brant Hospital opened on February 1, 1961, with 228 beds. It continues to be the one of the main pillars of health care in the Region. Jo Brant works closely with other parts of the health care system to coordinate care to patients. We believe that supporting local hospitals is important to maintain a strong core of Health care support.

An investment in the Joseph Brant Hospital will strengthen our ties to the community and is a very good way to demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
